For Christians worldwide, Advent refers to the four weeks leading up to Christmas, where communities remember and celebrate the arrival of Jesus and join together in the hope of his ultimate return.
At A Jesus Church, we desire to be generous people who believe that radical generosity is the heart of the Father. We aspire to share His traits with all the world and actively pursue Jesus's image and attributes, including how we give of our time, selves, and material possessions.
Though we strive to live out a culture of generosity all year, the holiday season offers a unique opportunity to deepen this practice as we embody God's loving-kindness toward humanity, demonstrated through the birth of Jesus, by leaning into the lives of the people, community, and world around us with increased purpose and intention.
Celebrate Advent & Give
We invite you to join us in celebrating this Advent Season and to giving by participating in a few specific ways.
Advent Celebration
Friday, Dec 5, 7PM
Join us for a night of carols and fun as we celebrate the start of the Advent Season together! Bring your family and a batch of your favorite Christmas cookies to share. Have your family picture taken to add to our AJC Family Christmas tree, which we’ll light together to officially kick off Advent!
We’re also collecting donations in support of With Love Oregon!
Toy-Drive Collection
AJC partners with local non-profit With Love year-round to help foster families change the lives of children ages 0-6 by providing resources that nurture dignity, hope, and community. Last year, we collected toys for their Season of Giving toy drive, and we are thrilled to be doing it again!
Here are some suggestions for NEW, unwrapped donations to this year's Toy Drive, which we will collect at our Advent Celebration on December 5.
Infant

A Jesus Kids will be open for Pre-K children during both daytime gatherings.
K-5th age kids are welcome to celebrate with their families in the Garage!
Christmas Evensong Gathering

Join us again in the evening for a special midnight gathering, starting at 11PM.
A Jesus Kids will NOT be open during this gathering.
